The Test: Am I lukewarm?
Read Revelations 3:14-22 (Lukewarm Christians that Die Lukewarm will Be Lost)
Question #1: Am I content to live my life without Jesus? Do I crave the Word, Prayer, Worship and Fellowship with the body of Christ, or are their long periods of time and gaps where I am not in the Bible nor "have the time in my schedule to engage in Christian activities?" A sure sign of the Lukewarm Christian is they are simply (much too busy) to commune with God. It is often one when tragedy, hardship or trials are brought into their life that a resurgence of prayer and devotion appear to resurface, and God is again a priority. But rest assure as comfort and peace replace the challenging time or trial they had faced, it is not long after that they yet again find themselves simply (much too busy) again with life, careers, schedules and personal strivings to make time for God. If this sounds like you or your pattern, you are lukewarm.
Am I on Fire or Am I Lukewarm?
Read Jeremiah 20:9
Read Luke 6:45
Question #2: Am I a "Christian" in just certain circles only when I am around church people, believing friends and family, or am I the same no matter the audience or crowd around me? Dows my language, jokes and topics of conversation change from friend to friend or is the general topic of conversation and focus of all conversations inline and view with scripture. A sure sign that you are on fire for the things of God is that your mouth will consistently speak of the things of God. You have no choice but to speak of God as your heart is full and to contain it within you would make you literally explode. If you are only "Christian" in certain circles, you are actually an "Actor" and not a Christian, you are lukewarm.
Am I on Fire or Am I Lukewarm?
Read Titus 2:11-14
Read Romans 6:1-2
Question #3: When conviction comes upon my heart, am I quick to repent (turn away from the activity or sin) or does the thought "Well God is forgiving and full of Grace" enter my mind and I either don't change at all, or only change until the conviction subsides and then return to the sin or situation that I know is displeasing to God? When conviction comes upon my heart do I immediately begin to justify my sin, make excuses as to why I am engaging in that sin or look for people who "see it like I do", or do I allow the Word of God and His Spirit to be the determining factors to define sin in my life? Does the Grace of God I know cause be to "be comfortable and remain in my sin" or does it empower me to "Say no and leave my sinful activity"? If your grace allows you to remain in sin, you do not understand biblical grace. You have created your "own version" of grace and are lukewarm.
Am I on Fire or Am I Lukewarm?
Read Colossians 1:16
Question #4: Do I live my life like I was created FOR Him or do I live my life like I was created for me? A guitar is created for the player, a water pot for the gardener, a frying pan for the chef. But a guitar doesn't play itself, the watering pot doesn't fill itself or function without the gardener and the frying pan doesn't cook chicken on its own without the chef. Are you functioning, controlling and governing your own life based on the understanding that it is "your own life" or that it is only in existence because of Him and exclusively "For Him"? Picture Adam, at the moment he was created, face to face to his Creator. one second you don't exist and the next you are gazing into the eyes of the one who formed you. What am I here for? What do you need me to do? What can I do to thank you? How can I get to know you and your plan for me better? Have you even thought about God "your creator"? If these questions have not even entered you mind or do not continuously come to your heart, you are most likely lukewarm.

Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Read Galatians 2:20
Question #5: Does your calendar and schedule reflect that your life is not your own, but that God has control of it and is filling in your dates, appointments and priorities? If you don't even consult with Him prior to making decision, commitment or placing an activity on your schedule you are most likely governing your own affairs and lukewarm.
Am I on Fire or Am I Lukewarm?
Read Mathew 6:19-24
Read Ecclesiastes 5:10
Read Acts 4:32
Question #6: Does your savings account, check book and Amazon purchase history reflect that your money is His or that it is yours to do with as you please? Consider and ponder the last (3) purchases you made outside of necessities. Did they impact or have the potential to make a difference in Eternity, or did they only improve your personal comfort or life? Do you live in so much debt that you can't give when the Spirit of God is leading you to give? Do you care more about what others think about your house size, age of your car, brand of your clothes and what you're going to do in retirement or about how you might advance the kingdom of God with the resources He has provided you? Can you remember the last time you gave or sowed a financial seed into the work of ministry that was an actual "sacrifice" or sold a possession, downsized or decreased your level of living in order that you might support evangelistic or ministry efforts to save souls? Would you be comfortable reviewing your last 6 months of itemized purchase history with the entire class today, taking a detailed look at every purchase, investment and financial decision you have made? If it would embarrass you, you are most likely not a good steward, you are squandering the provision God has blessed you with and you are lukewarm.
Am I on Fire or Am I Lukewarm?
Read John 15:18-19
Read John 17:14
Question #7: Are you being persecuted? Every book of the New Testament states that true believers and disciples will suffer and be persecuted for their faith and stance for Jesus. This is not talking about suffering because you're a judgmental jerk who doesn't know how to speak with anyone. This is suffering because the world knows that Jesus is evident in your life, and because the world loves darkness, they literally hate the light of Christ that is apparent in your life. If you are generally excepted, welcomed and comfortable around the world it is a sign that you may be just like them which means you may be lukewarm.
Am I on Fire or Am I Lukewarm?
Read Mathew 7:21-23
Question 8: Do you live like this scripture is true? If the response to the Lukewarm, professing Christian is "Depart from Me". If 5 out of 7 churches were on the wrong path one generation after Jesus was on earth, that means that most of the Christians we know will be rejected from Jesus on judgement day unless something changes. Are you broken about this? Have you wept for your children, parents, grandma, granddad? Are you ok with your friends going to where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth? Does it not keep you up at night? The fact that your spouse, children, or a parent is on the path to destruction? When is the last time you shared the gospel with anyone and pleaded to God to save a soul? If you can't remember or it wasn't today you might be lukewarm.
Am I on Fire or Am I Lukewarm?
Read 2 Corinthians 2:1-5
Question #9: Is Jesus and the Word of God enough to satisfy you? Or do you need the Word of God + a catchy, trendy, tattooed, eloquent speaker with funny stories? Does your personal Worship alone with Jesus have you more excited that a Lauren Daigle or Hillsong concert? Do you treat the Words of God like they are the ONLY words on the planet that are "living and active" or do you need to be entertained to keep your focus on God? If you need Jesus + anything else, you may not truly know Him and are most likely lukewarm.
